This kit is a mini monotub with one grow bag and a grow light for your convenience. Does not come with spores.

This kit is an all-in-one grow kit for mushroom cultivation (mini monotub). This kit includes a sterilized all in one grow bag with whole oats and coco coir substrate with an inoculation port.

We recommend emulating the natural light cycle of the sun e. 12 hours of the morning and 12 hours of the evening. This kit has worked for various mushrooms but is excellent for dung-loving varieties. However, if you have a gourmet mushroom strain, you can use this one or my wood lovers bag for potentially more significant yields. Steps to this mini monotub. One only needs to inoculate the bag. Use anywhere between 1-5 cc of your spores or culture syringe for each bag. If you don't inoculate right away, you can put it in the fridge while you wait for your syringes to arrive. When the oats are about 15-20 percent colonized (white), gently mix the bag with your hands to accelerate colonization.

Mix the mycelium with the coco coir when the oats are primarily white. Once the bag is colonized, or one sees pins of mushrooms starting, one can open the bag and take out the mycelium block (don't crumble or break up the contents) and place it in the center of the plastic tub. Spray after the first flush of mushrooms (or if dryness occurs). This kit is a set-and-forget kind of setup.

We hydrated these grains in hot water. They should have moisture within the grain, even if appearing dry. The reason for this was to cut down on the burst grains.

The burst grains can cause contamination due to too many starches and less circulated air. The bags with the substrate in the same bag with grains makes for a delicate balancing process. When i send these bags out, i know that many people are using spores, which can contribute to contamination (even if one is using a still air box too). Furthermore, spores and bacteria are invisible to the naked eye, and contamination can sometimes happen. Please know that this particular hobby has a margin of error.
