Big blue generators are engineered to fit standard ducting from 4 to 12 (depending on the model). Big blue ozone generators can easily be attached to the intake or exhaust side of an in-line fan with duct clamps. Big blue ozone generators work perfectly with all brand of in-line fans can-fan, hurricane, etc. Most people will find the big blue works well for two applications: sterilizing a grow space (or any other space) between grows, and as part of a grow room exhaust system for controlling odor. To rid the grow room powdery mold, mildew and insects simply pair your big blue with an inline fan and timer.
A 6in big blue will clean a 2600 cu ft grow space in under an hour. When using the big blue as a scrubber you can use a high static pressure, low cfm fan. Ozone works best when it can maintain a high concentration in an enclosed space, so shut off your exhaust and carbon filters.
Circulating fans are helpful to leave on, if you have them. Generally we recommend running the big blue for a couple of extra hours just to make absolutely sure everything is killed. Give yourself enough time for the ozone to react and then decompose before you re-enter your space (an hour or two is usually sufficient).
Use the sniff test; if you can't smell the ozone in the air then you can be certain it's safe to re-enter. The 4 big blue is designed for small spaces. The stainless steel housing measures 20 long x 4 diameter. It contains a single proprietary uv-c germicidal bulb which produces over 750 mg/hr of ozone. It is very energy efficient, using only 21 watts of power. This unit can accommodate up to a 465 cfm fan. It will decontaminate a 10 x 10 x 10 room in only one hour.
The 6 big blue is sized for larger rooms. Two individually-controlled ozone bulbs produce a total of 1500 mg of ozone per hour for twice the effectiveness of the popular 4 model. It will handle any 6 fan up to and beyond 600 cfm. The 6 big blue will decontaminate a 20 x 20 x 10 room in one hour.
The 8 big blue is our most popular model. This polished stainless steel ozonator contains 3 bulbs, each with their own high powered ballast. Each bulb is individually-controlled, allowing the user to adjust the ozone output. This redundant fail-safe feature means you are never without odor control.
Great for larger spaces and faster results in smaller spaces. This unit measures 20 long x 8 in diameter. Recommended fan size of up to 800 cfm. The 8 big blue produces up to 2250 mg/hr of ozone.
This model will decontaminate a 30 x 30 x 10 room in one hour. The 10 big blue contains 4 bulbs with up to 4 different control settings. It can decontaminate up to 1500 sq ft. Recommended fan size of up to 1000 cfm.
20 long x 10 diameter. The 4 bulb 10 big blue will decontaminate a 50 x 30 x 10 room in one hour. The 10 big blue w/5x uv bulbs contains 5 bulbs with up to 5 different control settings. Recommended fan size of up to 1200 cfm.The 5 bulb big blue can decontaminate a room 50 x 40 x 10 in one hour. The 12 big blue is designed for big, tough jobs. Ozone output of nearly 4000 mg/hr. Accommodates up to a 1200 cfm fan.
All big blue units are designed to be used with an inline fan. The big blue can work vertically or horizontally the orientation does not matter. For best performance we suggest blowing, rather than sucking air through the big blue. When using the big blue to scrub a room, most users find it easiest to mount the big blue on top of a carbon filter and fan. Plug the big blue to a simple timer, seal up the room, turn on your circulation fans (if you have them) and let it run overnight.
The next morning make sure the big blue has been off for about an before you enter the room. If you smell ozone upon entering the room simply wait a little bit longer. If you have an exhaust fan setup in the room you can turn that on to reduce the wait time. Hanging eyelets are included (all models except 4) to allow you to hang the big blue. The stainless steel housing can be easily drilled if more mounts are needed for your application.
The big blue can be used to negate the odors coming out of your exhaust ducting. After connecting the big blue to your duct run, set all switches to the on position. Selectively turn the switches off until the odor is negated by the ozone. You don't want to be creating too much ozone, just enough to negate the smell, so dial everything down accordingly.
If you can smell a little bit of ozone at your exhaust point that's fine, just make sure you're exhausting into an area where people are not coming into contact with it (typically outside or into an attic). All big blues are assembled with corrosion-resistant stainless steel. Big blues use a proprietary germicidal far uv-c lamp that produces the most effective odor killing and antimicrobial ozone that ultraviolet technology has to offer. Uv lamps continue to produce ozone for up to 14 to 18 months of continuous use. After that, the light is on, but ozone levels are below optimal.Bulb replacement is easily accomplished by anyone who can change a light bulb simply remove the lamp from its mounting clips and separate the bulb from its socket. Reverse the order for the installation of a new bulb. The bulb can be recycled at any facility that will take fluorescent bulbs.
