The design incorporates rafters, lattice frame, and polycarbonate panels as rain proofing, uv shield, and sunlight transmittance. Metal panels can replace the polycarbonate panels, if desired. This design is especially useful for decks and patios which are too hot in the summer with no shade. This design adds the uv shielding polycarbonate panels to provide shade and rain proofing. The uv shielding capability and double pane design reduces solar heat transfer into living area while letting visible light through.

This design can also be built on ground level as a perfect patio covering with ultimate styling and unlimited lifetime.
