This mycelium-rich millet act as a source to kick-start the growth of mushrooms. Substrate mixing: the colonized millet (spawn) are then mixed with another substrate that provides the necessary nutrition and support for the mushrooms to flourish.

Mushroom growth and harvest: under the proper fruiting conditions, mushrooms will start to grow from the colonized substrate. As the mushrooms mature, they can be harvested for consumption.
