Three sizes of sterilised grain in unicorn bags with injection ports. Order 3 and your 4th bag will be sent automatically. These bags do not come with spores. Each batch or grain is cleaned and then soaked for 24 hours to germinate foreign endospores. The cleaned grain is then precooked for a short time to fully saturate the grain to the correct percentage. Each substrate bag is sealed first and then sterilised by autoclave at above 15psi / 121c for 120 minutes to achieve total sterilisation. This grain is prepared using the best quality organic ingredients available to achieve fast growth and optimal colonisation. Inoculate this sterile grain with your favorite edible or novelty mushroom strain. Our bags are the pre-sealed before sterilisation which means the substrate is never open to the air during or after the sterilisation process. Wear surgical gloves and a mask, clean gloved hands in 70% isopropyl alcohol. Use an alcohol wipe to sanitise your injection site for 30 seconds. Now flame sterilise your needle red hot and then use a wipe to cool the needle. Alternatively, dispense a small quantity of culture or spore solution into something nearby, this will also cool your needle enough to inject the bag. Inject 3-5ml into the grain (depending on size of grain bag), withdraw the needle then immediately cover the injection holes with a minimum of 2 layers of 3m micropore tape. Gently agitate the grain being very careful not to tear the bag.
